Handicraft is a very old and homemade activity of transforming raw materials into economic goods, manually and without the use of mechanical means, producing reduced quantities at the subsistence level. The role played by handicrafts in Huancayo is very important, it motivates tourism and commerce. It fulfills a social function, managing to develop popular art and transmitting it through the generations. Day 1
Full Day - Craft
Start: 10:30 a.m. Departure from Huancayo. Cochas: Process of the burned mates. Park of the mocked mates. Hualhuas: Craft and textile workshops. Conception: Dairy plant, purchase of dairy products. Convent of Santa Rosa de Ocopa: It has a museum made up of 4 cloisters; La Obrería (the statue of its founder), La Portería (pictures of the Huamanguine school with representation of the Via Crucis), Cloister of Father Pio Sarobe and Olivó (in the center of the courtyard there is an olive tree planted by its founder of more than 270 years) It has a gallery and library with more than 25 thousand volumes of books and a Natural History Museum with jungle species. Its dining room has murals painted by artist Huancaíno Josué Sánchez in 1993 and at the same time it has a 1725 Renaissance church, declared national heritage. Inside there are baroque altarpieces, the dome decorated with allegories to Christ, the virgin and the missionary work of Ocopa. Note: The museum visit hours are from 9:00 am to 11:15 am and from 3:00 pm to 5:15 pm, every day except Tuesdays. San Jerónimo de Tunan: Gold and silver process. Return to Huancayo. End: 7:00 pm.
